• Dr. Foster has the extensive Welding analysis background necessary to thoroughly investigate your welding challenges, not only finding the true root causes of the welding related issue, but writing a clear, concise and thorough expert witness report.

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) & Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng)

• Dr. Foster is a Professional Engineer who has the experience and license to design, review, fabricate and repair welded structures

Former University Engineering professor and Certified Welding Educator (CWE)

• Dr. Foster has taught a variety of welding engineering courses at various US universities

• Dr. Foster currently teaches welding engineering and welding management courses for private industry, government agencies and national society organizations

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

• Dr. Foster is an experienced Certified Welding Inspector that can evaluate welds to properly identify welding defects and their acceptance according to various welding codes and standards.  In addition, the CWI certification gives the holder authority to approve new, and audit existing, weld qualifications and procedures.  ​

Non-Destructive Testing Level III Inspector (NDT III)

• Dr. Foster is an inspector certified by the American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT).  He has been certified to design, manage and conduct Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Visual Testing (VT) activities. He can evaluate materials to properly identify their defects according to various welding codes and standards.​

Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS)

• Dr. Foster has the training, experience and certification in planning, managing and supervising, shop floor welding operations​

Certified Welder (CW) 

• Not only can Dr. Foster design, supervise and inspect welded structures, but he is an experienced welder who has been certified through the American Welding Society.

Welding Inspection and Metallurgy Certification (API 577)

• The Welding Inspection and Metallurgy Certification through the American Petroleum Institute (API), validates Dr. Foster's high level of proficiency and understanding of the welding processes, metallurgy and inspection techniques used in the petrochemical industry.

Member of the American Welding Society’s–Safety and Health Committee

• As a member of the American Welding Society’s safety committee, Dr. Foster is well versed regarding welding safety requirements and is involved in continued welding safety developments.
